TCSYO Summer Strings Camp is a two week long summer day camp that offers string students the same musical opportunities of some of the best music sleep-a-way camps in this Region. The rigor of rehearsal, the element of ensemble playing, and the opportunity to work with a highly dedicated and experienced music faculty from the greater Washington DC area is what makes this highly sought after strings camp separate from the rest.

TCSYO Summer Strings Camp is this area’s stepping stone to true artistic development, and a must for every young musician serious about their musical development. Our goal is to foster the student's progress and improve musical comprehension combined with the fun and excitement of summer day camp in a creative, energized, and positive atmosphere.

Students break throughout the day to learn life-changing leadership games, which creates the foundation needed for performing ensemble literature at its highest level.

There is limited space available. The maximum number of students accepted into this program is 35. This way every student accepted has the greatest opportunity to learn and the instruction can be geared towards individual student success.

The camp is open to talented young musicians between 10-18 years of age, playing the following string instruments: violin, viola, cello, bass and harp.

Students eligible for this program should have completed at least four years of private instruction on a string instrument. The camp is designed for string students who have the technical proficiency needed to play three-octave scales.
