SUMMER STRINGS CAMP

TCSYO Summer Strings Camp offers each student the opportunity to enhance his/her abilities by working with highly dedicated and experienced music faculty from the greater Washington DC area. Our goal is to foster the student's progress and improve musical comprehension, combined with the fun and excitement of summer day camp in a creative and energized atmosphere.

TCSYO’ Artistic Staff consists of highly accomplished professional musicians, educators and instructors who are dedicated to the musical development of our student. Our day-long program is structured and scheduled with the following objectives in mind: to allow students to increase their understanding of the intricate and complex details of the parts they play in the orchestra; to provide students with coaching from our faculty, in the smaller group setting of sectionals; to teach tone production technique classes; and to offer optional chamber ensembles. Each day’s session will end with a positive team confidence-building activity.

Students eligible for this program should have completed at least two years of private instruction on a string instrument. The camp is designed for string students playing at Solo Grade Level IV (VBODA) and above, and who have the technical proficiency needed to play three-octave scales.

The camp is open to talented young musicians between 10-18 years of age, playing the following string instruments: violin, viola, cello, bass and harp.

TCSYO' enriching curriculum consists of:

String Orchestra Rehearsals

Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello and Bass Sectionals
